Centre, Janet Strang, Vice Chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association. Voluntary group leaders and some of the 1st Stevenston Boys Brigade.
On Wednesday 2/3/2022 Janet Strang, Vice Chair, CHA, presented a cheque for £298 to the 1st Stevenston voluntary group leaders. Boys of the 1st Stevenston Boys Brigade were there to accept the cheque.
The 1st Stevenston Boys Brigade is a registered charity youth group for boys aged between 5 – 18 years old. They meet on a weekly basis. The club has been running for over 100 years by volunteers. The group gives local boys who are members a sense of pride in their community, while working towards badges. The work involved in achieving the badges, gives them essential life skills such as teamwork and social networking .
The funding given by Cunninghame Housing Association is helping the group to buy a new laptop. This allows the group to move with the times and carry out everything digitally, helping cut the use of paper.
The funding for the group came from the Associations “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund”. The fund runs throughout the year (1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) until the funding is exhausted.
We are delighted to be supporting the 1st Stevenston Boys Brigade and helping them to buy a new laptop. The Association recognises the commitment of the volunteers. A new laptop will benefit everyone saving them time which can be better spent working with the boys. They can give the boys access to the laptop for projects they may be working on.
