Cunninghame Housing Association holds its Annual General Meeting and celebrates 40 years!
On Wednesday, 4th September, Cunninghame Housing Association held its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Lauriston Hotel, Ardrossan which was well attended by share members.
- Chairperson’s Report: presentation on the association’s achievements over the past year from the Interim Chief Executive.
- Financial Overview: presentation of the Annual Accounts and Balance Sheet for the period from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024.
- Auditors’ Report & Reappointment: the association’s auditors, CT, reported on the accounts, and their reappointment was confirmed.
- Board Elections: the election of members to the Board of Management saw the re-election of Brian McCabe, Elizabeth Shedden, John Nisbet and Drew Hall. Arlene McLaughlin and Chris Carroll who had previously been co-opted members of the Board of Management were also elected. Following the AGM the Board of Management met and elected the office bearers for 2024/25; re-electing Janet Strang as Chairperson, Brenda Johnston as Vice Chairperson and Drew Hall as Company Secretary for the new session.
Following this year’s AGM the association also marked the momentous occasion of our 40th anniversary. The milestone was celebrated with an afternoon tea, a raffle, and special acknowledgments for key individuals who have contributed to the association’s success over the decades.
As part of the 40th anniversary celebrations, the Association also recognised several key contributors to Cunninghame Housing Association.
One of the day’s highlights was a special tribute to our recently retired Group Chief Executive, Frank Sweeney, who dedicated over 34 years to the association. His leadership and passion playing a pivotal role in shaping the association into what it is today. Frank was warmly thanked for his service, and his lasting impact on the community.
The Association’s Chairperson Janet Strang celebrates 30 years! Janet is currently the longest serving Board Member of CHA having joined in 1994.
In recognition of her long-standing commitment and dedication, Janet was presented with a long-service award along with a bouquet of flowers.
The Association also paid tribute to George Northcote, longest-serving tenant of CHA.
Mr Northcote has been a tenant of the Association since 1986 and a valued member of the community for many years.
Another highlight of the day was the presentation of trophies and certificates to the winners of this year’s Garden Competition. Their hard work was celebrated, showcasing the pride tenants take in their homes and surroundings.
As part to the celebrations members in attendance completed a fun quiz about the history of CHA with the winner Christine Marshall receiving a £50 food hamper. Various other raffle prizes were won by members which included: microwave, airfryer, restaurant vouchers and much more!
As Cunninghame Housing Association celebrates 40 years of providing quality homes and services, we remain focused on the future. With the continued support of our members and the community, we look forward to another year of progress and success.
