Alan Somerville, Senior Development Officer of Cunninghame Housing Association recently presented a cheque for £1,000 to members of Annan The History Town Group.
The Group is an active community group promoting Annan as the history town. They continually seek to promote the town, stressing their rich heritage. They want to improve the public realm and heritage interpretation within Annan. The Group have now been running for over 5 years. They are now planning their third Summer Festival which will take place over July and August 2023.
The funding given by Cunninghame Housing Association will assist towards the Groups three ‘Annan Through the Ages’ exhibitions. They will form part of this year’s Summer Festival demonstrating: Independent Grocers and Supermarkets, School Memories and Industries and Buildings.
“We are delighted to be able to give financial support to Annan The History Town Group’s Summer Festival. After the success of earlier years and the feedback they have received it has proven to become an important date in the calendar for the community. They are giving an enjoyable day for all while learning about the town’s rich heritage.”
