Presenting the winners’ Cups and certificates were Cunninghame Housing Association Board Members, June Fenelon and Elizabeth Shedden.
Our yearly garden competition is a way of thanking tenants for taking pride in their gardens and local areas. This was the 1st year since 2019 that judges were able to get out and enjoy this year’s entries. The judges were impressed by the high standard of entries despite the bad weather.
Coming out on top in North Ayrshire were Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie of Old Caley Road in Irvine. Our East Ayrshire winner is Miss. Blades from Northcraig Road in Kilmarnock. The winner of the best kept shared garden area was Mr. Smith from Glen Crescent in Stevenston.
The garden competition is a chance to reward the skill and hard work of tenants. It reinforces the need for garden areas to be well-kept. Well tended gardens improve residents’ environment and make sure that their communities are attractive places to live.
“The quality of this year’s entries was excellent. It was a difficult choice for the judging panel to decide one winner. It’s great to see the competition back and be a popular event in our calendars again. Well done to the winners and thanks to all who entered for making our local areas so attractive”
