POST: Apprentice Painter and Decorator

SALARY: YEAR 1- £6.40 PER HOUR
YEAR 2 -£ NMW DEPENDANT ON AGE
YEAR 3 -£ NMW DEPENDANT ON AGE
YEAR 4 -£ NMW DEPENDANT ON AGE

Hours Per Week: Monday – Thursday 8.00 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. (2.00p.m. Friday)

Reporting to the Direct Works Manager you will provide an efficient customer focused service, undertaking a range of painting and decorating tasks to owned and managed properties within the association’s stock portfolio. This work will range from carrying out external works as part of the Associations cyclical maintenance programme. Works will also be required on our voids, responsive repairs and planned maintenance programmes. The successful candidate will require regular and satisfactory levels of attendance, progressing through both college and work- based learning.

The post holder must be self-motivated and confident with an excellent attitude towards learning new skills.  You should display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a repairs team to ensure successful delivery of a quality repair, maintenance and improvement service.

It is essential the post holder has a minimum of 3 national 4 qualifications in maths, English and a science or craft subject.
