Cunninghame Forum Meeting – April 2023
Our Dalry Tenants and Residents group hosted a Cunninghame Forum Meeting in April 2023 in the Rosearden Hall in Dalry.
Forum meetings are held every three months with our tenant groups hosting and chairing the meetings on a rolling basis. The Forum meetings share practices, give updates on group activities and tenant participation, talk, and learn about housing news. It also gives tenant members an opportunity to meet senior staff. The host group also showcases their local area with a visit to a place of interest with informative presenters.
21 tenant group members came to the meeting with the Dalry Group creating an interesting agenda. This included a visit to St Margarets Parish church which celebrates its 150 birthday this year. The informative tour of this beautiful church was led by a very knowledgeable session clerk.
The first guest speaker was Liam Watters, Cunninghame’s Head of Asset Management and Repairs. Liam delivered a detailed presentation on the causes and prevention of dampness, condensation, and mould within people’s homes.
Mark Dunn, Plant Manager at DSM in Dalry gave the Forum a look into their world leading project, Bovaer. This is a cattle feed which will be a significant solution to combat climate change. The new production facility will be ready in two years for local employment and apprenticeships.
Both speakers were happy to take questions which lead to interesting discussions.
