Cunninghame Housing Association is a Data Controller registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (Registration No: Z6489501). Cunninghame Housing Association is committed to ensuring the lawful, fair and transparent management of personal data, in accordance with UK data protection legislation, including:
- UK General Data Protection Regulation
- UK Data Protection Act 2018
- Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations 2003
To allow us to deliver our services, we are required to process personal data relating to our staff, our customers, our suppliers, board members, etc. Personal data, for the purposes of this Procedure is defined as, any information relating to an identified or identifiable living individual who can be identified, directly or indirectly. Personal data includes facts, opinions or intentions relating to the data subject.
The UK General Data Protection Regulation provides all living individuals, known as data subject, with certain rights over their personal data. Data Subjects have the right to:
- ask for a copy of their information held by us in our records;
- require us to correct any inaccuracies in information held;
- make a request for us to delete any personal data which we hold;
- object to us processing their personal data in certain situations;
- request that restrict the processing of their personal data;
- to obtain and reuse their personal data for their own purposes across different services; and
- certain rights in relation to automated decision making.

Subject Access Requests
You have the have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal data that we process about you. This is called the ‘right to access’ and is commonly known as making a Subject Access Request or SAR.
We should reply to you within one calendar month of receiving your request.
It’s important to note that:
- it is preferred that an SAR is made in writing. A subject access request form is available for download below. The use of this form is not mandatory but will assist with the collection of the relevant information to progress your request. Subject Access Requests can be made in other formats also
- We need to be satisfied that we know the identity of the requestor, and therefore we will typically ask for identification when you make a SAR.
- We will typically not charge a fee for responding to a SAR, however, a reasonable fee for the administrative costs of complying with a SAR may be charged if it is excessive or you request further copies of the information.
