Lesley Keenan, Chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association presented a cheque for £1,000 to Kilwinning Football Academy 2008’s.

Kilwinning Football Academy is a registered charity. They give football development, nutrition, health training to boys and girls of North Ayrshire. The Academy is run by a voluntary Committee/Coaches and have over 300 children registered from different age ranges and abilities. They encourage children to eat healthy, exercise and develop positive relationships with others. They aim to promote confidence, football and social skills.

The financial support to the 2008’s Team will help with costs involved in competing in new tournaments outside North Ayrshire. This gives the young players the opportunity to travel further while building their self-esteem and confidence.

The funding came from the “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund”. It runs throughout the year (1st April to 31st March) until the funding is exhausted.

The Association are delighted to support the club who have been running for years giving children opportunities and encourage fitness.
