On Wednesday 11th August 2021 John Kelly, Chair of Cunninghame Housing Association presented a cheque for £1,000 to Jonathan Ralston. Jonothan is a young Archer from Dalry, the fund will help with his competition costs for another season.
The Association’s Board of Management awarded Jonathan £500 in July 2019. They then made the decision to sponsor Jonathan for a further 2 years. Jonathan, who first began archery at the age of 6, takes part in competitions and training throughout the country. Jonathan has taken part in competitions travelling to Burton-on Trent winning the under-16 age group and the Banchory 2-day event. Jonathan also taken part in a Youth Festival at Lilleshall where he was part of the Men’s Recurve Cadet Team. He went on to win the bronze medal. Jonathan has bought a new training bow with the sponsor money and the funds assisting with travel and hotel costs.
The funding came from the “Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund”. It runs throughout the year (1st April to 31st March) until the funding is exhausted.
