Over the last 24 months we’ve helped Raydale Community Partnership (RCP) in Gretna with business planning and several major funding bids to secure in excess of £500,000 to help secure a new 11-a-side astroturf pitch, community gym, fitness room and changing facilities at Raydale Park in Gretna. Working together our aim is to create the Raydale Community Sports Hub and improve access to sport and leisure facilities for local children and adults who currently travel significant distances, including into England, to access sporting facilities.
We also sourced several large portacabins from one of our housing development sites in Lockerbie and committed £16,000 to relocate these cabins to Gretna in early 2020, creating 3250 sq ft space for the changing rooms, community gym and large multi-purpose fitness space. The project is now on site, with the 3g facility due for completion in August / September 2021.

As well as providing core housing services with 143 properties completed under our Dumfries & Galloway Regeneration and another 273 under construction with a further 169 additional homes in the pipeline, we are also supporting local communities to deliver a number of innovative initiatives.

Through our affordable housing supply programme, we are on track to deliver 50,000 affordable homes by 2021, backed by record investment of more than £3 Billion.
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT BY THE NUMBERS
Our construction investment is integral to our work with our construction contractors. For example, in the last 4 years our current agreement with Ashleigh Construction, has delivered 19 apprenticeship opportunities with Ashleigh and another 43 within their supply chain across Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway.
Our approach ensures affordable housing and social inclusion are effectively linked. Housing construction and maintenance spend are important drivers in disadvantaged local economies. At CHA we believe we go beyond this to act as a community anchor and champion – delivering new homes, creating training and employment opportunities, tackling fuel poverty, providing financial support and developing community assets and infrastructure to support regeneration and social enterprise as part of our Dumfries & Galloway Regeneration.
We believe we are More Than Just A Landlord.
