John Kelly the Chair of Cunninghame Housing Association gave a cheque for £500 to Kaileigh Brown. Kaileigh is Executive Director and Elaine Smith is Director of The Ayrshire Community Trust (TACT). It will help with the costs of their planned online award ceremony for volunteers who have helped others during Covid.
The Ayrshire Community Trust feel it is more important than ever to hold an event. It awards volunteers who gave up time to help others who may have been lonely or in poor mental health.
Volunteers are nominated from organisations such as Foodbank, hospital transport and making friends programmes.
Kaileigh Brown, Executive Director of The Ayrshire Community Trust commented. “Volunteers’ Week 2021 had the theme of ‘time to say thanks’. It goes without saying that volunteers have played an important part in the Covid19 response. During a very difficult year, people from all walks of life have taken the time to volunteer. It makes a huge difference to communities throughout North Ayrshire – just like they do every year. This is a time for us to come together and thank all volunteers for their amazing support. We couldn’t host an Event where volunteers get goodie bags/hampers for their help without the support of our sponsors. Cunninghame Housing Association has been a long-time support of The Ayrshire Community Trust. We are very grateful for their continued support.”
